POSITION SUMMARY:
Under direct supervision of the warehouse lead, responsible for accurate and timely completion of packing, processing, and tagging orders. Performs other duties as required: Responsible for shipping, receiving and inventory control. Receives, stores, and issues materials, equipment, and other items from warehouse.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Reviews shipping schedule daily and assigns orders for picking using shipping software system and physically pulling orders in the warehouse.
- Processes orders ready for shipment in shipping software system and verifies all paperwork is accurate and complete
- Process small package orders ready for shipment and completes orders in the FedEx and UPS systems
- Tags small and freight orders after they have been processed.
- Works with customer service to provide customer tracking information, shipping POD’s and issues call tags for order pick-up
- Uses carrier selection software to identify the best carrier for each order; calls carriers to schedule pick-ups
- Enters receiving reports into the ERP system
- Works with quality to schedule incoming and outgoing inspection of items as required
- Performs other duties as assigned: Delivers raw materials to production, as well as finished goods from production to warehouse. Loads and unloads freight and stock materials; rotates material on a first in, first out procedure
- Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments against bills of lading
- Prepares orders for shipment by pulling merchandise, palletizing, marking stretch wrapping and loading
- Unpacks and examines incoming products and records shortages in logbook
- Helps with daily and monthly inventory and cycle counts as assigned by warehouse supervisor
- Pulls and fills planned and unplanned inventory to complete urgent orders as customer needs arise
- Labels pallets before going to production; maintains pallet yard in an orderly fashion, cleans warehouse space
- Refuels equipment; performs light housekeeping duties
SUPERVISION RECEIVED/GIVEN:
Work with minimal supervision and does not supervise other employees.
HOURS: Monday – Thursday 7:00am -5:30pm
Required Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- One to three years clerical office experience in a fast-paced environment; experience in shipping or receiving preferred
- Must have excellent customer service, verbal and written communication skills
- Six months recent warehouse experience required
- Must have experience operating a forklift, pallet jack, hand truck, banding and wrapping equipment and bar code scanners
- Good communication skills; works as a team and be detailed oriented
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a frequent basis
- Must be able to lift, push and move materials weighing up to 150 pounds with assistance of warehouse equipment; must be able to climb ladders
- Proficiency in basic math skills required including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
- Basic computer skills required
- Experience in entering information into warehouse computer system software (ie. QuickPak) preferred
